Reach! Reach! Reach!

I started doing a little research into the character I'm going to play in "Man of La Mancha" in October, and then went out and got the soundtrack so I could listen to "To Each His Dulcinea" as that's one song from the show I'm not incredibly familiar with. Two things struck me while listening to it.

1) I'm very lucky to be singing it. It's got some tough intervals in it, especially the very end. I relish a vocal challenge.

2) OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS THIS SONG IS HIGH!

Serves me right for using "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat" as my audition piece (the song has a lot of high G's in it that I sang loudly in full chest).

Ah, yes! Neil. I remember meeting him at Bearaoke once. He was in The Village production in Issaquah, if I recall. Beautiful voice. Maybe one of these years I'll get to play The Village. Who knows, I may even qualify for Equity.
